God's Desire

Welcome to Breath of Life Church!

A truck driver lost near the airport. A friend given a month to live. A prophet running 2,500 miles in the wrong direction. In this message, we revisit the story of Jonah — not as a fable about a big fish, but as a real account of a man running from a destination God had planned for him, and the mercy that followed him anyway.

Through Jonah 1, we explore what it looks like when God calls us toward something we'd rather avoid, and how His mercy reaches not only the person running, but everyone caught in the storm around them — even those who have no idea what's really happening.

✔️ Why Jonah ran from Nineveh — and why we run from our own callings

✔️ How storms can come whether we're walking in obedience or rebellion, and God still loves us

✔️ Why God's mercy reaches people through our disobedience — and how much more through our obedience

✔️ 2 Peter 3:9 — God's patience and His desire for everyone to come to repentance

Whether you're facing a "storm" of your own or sensing God nudging you toward a path you've been avoiding, this message is an encouragement to stop running and start walking toward whatever "Nineveh" God has placed in front of you.

📖 Scripture referenced: Jonah 1, 2 Peter 3:9
